In the name of heaven

Can you give us lodging.

My dear wife’s exhausted,

After hours of walking.

Aqui no es meson,

Sigan Adelante.

Yo no debo abrir,

No sea algun tunante.

This is not an inn.

I don’t take in strangers.

You might be a robber,

I can’t risk the danger.

No seas inhumano,

Tennos caridad

Que el Dio de los cielos

Te lo premiara.

Don not be so heartless,

Help us, we implore you!

God, who sees from heaven,

Surely will reward you.

Ya se pueden ir

Y no molestar

Porque si me enfado

Os voy a apalear

I cannot assist you

Find someone who can.

Leave now or I warn you,

You will wish you had.

Narrator:  Sad and dejected, Mary and Joseph walked on

Narrador:  Tristes y abatidos, Maria y Jose seguieron caminando.

Our spirits by Thine advent here
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death’s dark shadows put to flight
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

Narrador: María y José llegaron a otra vivienda. José tocó a la puerta para pedir refugio.

En el nombre del Cielo

Os pido posada

Pues no puede andar

Mi esposa armada.

In the name of heaven

Can you give us lodging.

My dear wife’s exhausted,

After hours of walking.

Venimos rendidos

Desde Nazaret

Yo soy carpintero

De nombre Jose

We have come from Nazareth

Walking all the way

I am a poor woodworker

Joseph is my name.

No me importa el number

Dejenme dormir

Pues que yo les digo

Que nos hemos de abrir

Knowing what your name is
Does not change my answer

Go and let me sleep

Stop this useless banter

Posada te pide,

Amado casero

Por solo una noche

La Reina del Cielo

Please sir, all we ask

Is one night of lodging

For the Queen of Heaven.

Can you offer nothing?

Pues si es una reina

Quien lo solicita

Como es que de noche

Anda tan solita

I’ve heard many stories

This beats every one

Since when does a queen

Walk at night alone?

Narrator:  Having been turned away once more, Mary and Joseph walked on.

Stop #3  Joy to the World

D                                       A7 D

Joy to the world, the Savior reigns

Let men their songs employ

While field and floods, rocks hills and plains

Repeat the sounding joy, repeat the sounding joy

Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

Narrator:  Exhausted, cold and discouraged, Joseph and Mary came to another dwelling.  Surely there would be shelter here.

Narrador:  Agotados, con frío y desanimados, José y María llegaron a otra morada. Seguramente allí habrían refugio.
