History, Arts, & Culture of the Southwest Valley

P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center

The P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center will be home to a museum, archive, research library, gift shop, and public programming areas. Named in honor of Paul Weeks Litchfield, an internationally known industrial figure of the first half of the 20th century, the Center will be housed in a re-purposed historic building on Litchfield Hill (once part of Rancho La Loma – Paul and Florence Litchfield’s winter home).

Our Vision: To be the historical and cultural heart of the Southwest Valley

Be part of this exciting project. We have begun a Capital Campaign to move to the top of the hill behind our current museum and into the historic Litchfield/Denny house.

A Center for Community Engagement

The rich history and unique character of the Southwest Valley (Litchfield Park, Goodyear, Avondale, Tolleson, Cashion, Liberty, and Waddell) will define the thematic content of the exhibits in the LHC. The facility will showcase the stories of the development of these original communities and the Early Pioneer Families to the area.

The exhibits will also highlight the influence of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. (Goodyear Farms, Goodyear Aircraft, Goodyear Aerospace) on the Southwest Valley, the nation, and the world.

The LHC will be the crown jewel of historic Litchfield Hill, a major cultural asset in the Southwest Valley, and a new tourist destination for visitors – both out-of-state and international. There is no other facility on the west side of Phoenix that provides these unique offerings.

MAKE IT A REALITY
