VIP Tour Opportunity at the MIM

The P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center has arranged for a behind-the-scenes VIP Tour of the Musical Instrument Museum.

Spend the day exploring the only global musical instrument museum in the world!  It’s an opportunity to discover how exhibits are created. Go backstage at the MIM Music Theater and see how the MIM conserves and prepares its extensive instrument collection on a behind-the-scenes guided tour. 

Costs is $30 for Members and $40 for non-members. Registration ends on January 21, 2025. Space is limited.

Itinerary

9:45 AM     Meet in the MIM lobby, 4725 E. Mayo Blvd. Phoenix, AZ 85050

10:00 AM    VIP Behind-the-scenes tour

11:00 AM     Lunch – Attendees may purchase lunch at Café Allegro or Beats Coffee Bar, located in the MIM, and enjoy lunch together in the Courtyard.

Enjoy a self-guided tour after lunch.

Transportation to the event is not included to allow for participants to see the Museum at their leisure after the tour.

More about the MIM

MIM has a collection of more than 7,500 instruments from more than 200 world countries and territories with galleries that reflect the rich diversity and history of many world cultures. Technology at the MIM brings instruments to life, enabling visitors to see and hear these instruments in their original cultural settings. Displays include the MIM’s oldest instrument, displayed in the Orientation Gallery, a paigu goblet drum from China  estimated to have been created between 5000 and 4000 BCE; nearly 40 displays showcasing instruments and artifacts from some of the greatest musicians in the world such as Elvis Presley, Tito Puente, Johnny Cash, and Joan Baez.
